Request association records

Owners can ask to inspect or get copies of the association's books and records. Here's how.

How it works

  1. Send a written request describing the records you want, and say whether you'd like to inspect them first or receive copies.
  2. Where to send it. Texas Property Code §209.005 describes sending the request by certified mail to the mailing address on the association's current management certificate. On a real site, the board lists that address here; this sample doesn't include one.
  3. The board responds on or before the 10th business day after the association receives the request, either with inspection dates or with the copies, or with a written notice if it needs more time.

The online form below is a courtesy so the board sees your request right away (on a live site; Coming). It doesn't replace the written request described above. Copying costs follow the board's adopted records production and copying policy (on a real site, posted in the documents library; this sample doesn't include it). This page is general information, not legal advice.
